Barack Obama was the first African American president in the USA. He became the president in 2009, and left the office in 2017. As president, Obama focused on many important issues, for example a healthcare reform, economic recovery and climate change. He achieved many things as president, and one of the most known achievements was the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). They wanted to secure healthcare for millions of people. Furthermore, he worked to improve the US's relations with other countries.
After serving two terms in the "Oval Office", Obama left the office. Even though he was not president anymore, he continued to impact people in the entire world. He writes books, gives speeches and supports important issues and helps communities. Together with his wife (Michelle Obama), he started the Obama Foundation. This organization wants to help young leaders and encourage people to get involved in their communities. As president, Obama has been able to inspire many people and change how they think about leadership and serving others.
