The Yešvaploi Riots (jan 5, 1922 – jan 30, 1922)
Description:
[Yešvaploi Èbatanov]
With the execution of Emperor Yešva Valkas at the end of the 4th Hells War, many monarchists in support of the empire and those who believed that Velxenia still was not done fighting the war rioted across most of the major cities (Thes, Atswam, Vekez, Atopunre, Onarus, Piyeretli, and Iperovi). The riots consisted of underground Monarchist groups who would storm the streets near each government institutions in each city. A large protest, which later turned into a riot, occurred during the execution of the emperor, but it was held off from disrupting the event by the Oipientian military. However, once he was killed, some protesters and concealed crowd goers began to throw molotv cocktails towards where General Kaisorèlar Y. Gavarèško of Oipienta was giving his speech. Almost getting hit by a rock, the general continued his speech, but that is when all hell broke loose and the Oipientian army closed off numerous streets and blocked anyone from leaving the square in order to arrest those causing violence.
The riots went on for almost a month until the Oipientian army was able to quell the unrest. Although the unrest was put to an end, the newly formed republican government did not necessarily listen to its citizens and allowed corruption to flourish. The Velxen Republic was doomed to fail from the beginning because of the complete collapse of the Southern Yueroki economy and the disputed and hated Treaty of Vekex.
