On 20 May 1927, Charles Lindbergh successfully flew nonstop from New York to the European continent, encountering numerous challenges over 33.5 hours. He and the Spirit of St. Louis arrived at Le Bourget Airport near Paris on 21 May, marking the first solo Atlantic crossing.
