Congress of Vienna (sep 1, 1814 – jun 1, 1815)
Description:
Following the end of the Napoleonic Wars, a congress taken place in Vienna and spearheaded by Austria took place, seeking to restore Europe to the ‘status quo,’ ripe for the conservative governments of their time to exert their control. This congress would begin to inspire more nationalistic ideals of unification in Italy and Germany despite this, however.
