The Indian National Army (jan 1, 1943 – jan 1, 1943)
Description:
Subhash Chandra Bose was put on House arrest but he managed to escape and make his way to Germany. From there, he eventually got to Japan and formed the Azad Hind Fauj or Indian National Army with the Indian soldiers held captive in Japan. Along with the japanese forces, the INA marched towards India through Burma (now Myanmar) and planted hoisted the Indian flag in Manipur. However, after Japan lost WW2, the efforts of the INA came to an end. Many of the soldiers were captured and tried but were later released due to many protests.
