The Quit India movement (aug 1, 1942 – aug 9, 1942)

Description:

The failure of the Cripps mission increased the intensity of the Nationalist movement. In August 1942, The INC adopted the Quit India movement, for which Gandhi made the popular slogan "Do or Die." Him and other prominent leaders were arrest on 9th August 1942 which caused strong protests across the nation. Post offices, railway line and police stations were destroyed across the country. The british tried their best to crush these protests.
