Latin (jan 1, 600 BC – jan 1, 700)

Description:

This is the time period in which Latin was spoken. Latin can be divided into a number of time periods starting with Very Old Latin onto Old Latin, Classical Latin and Late Latin. Starting around 75BC in the Classical Latin period, the different dialects (known as Vulgar Latin) started to form into what we call the Romance languages, like French, Italian, Spanish, Romanian and Sardinian, as well as a few other extinct branches like the Vulgar Latin spoken in the province of AFRICA (modern day Tunisia).
