Description:

桂林临桂人。原名守睿，字哲臣，号莲史。清嘉庆二十五年（1820）状元。授职翰林院修撰。由于陈继昌抱病应殿试而连中“三元”（解元、会元、状元）声名大振。察考又得第一，故又有“三元及第”之称。他是中国科举史最后一位“三元”状元。
