Termination of the Bracero Program (sep 16, 1965 – jul 29, 1970)
Description:
The US Government terminated the Bracero Program, and the grape boycott began. In addition to lost wages, many also faced eviction from housing owned by growers were risks people were willing to take while going on a strike. What began as a labor dispute in the fields of Delano blossomed into a civil rights struggle, a movement for achieving justice for farmworkers.
