Italian Revolution of 1848 (jan 1, 1848 – jan 1, 1849)
Description:
Also known as the first Italian war for independence. The war was fought between the Kingdom of Sardinia and Austria, with other countries here and there like France. The war ended in an Austrian victory and France gaining control over the Papal states. France having control over the Papal states would come into play during the war of 1870. This war was followed by revolutions in Sicily as well as other places.
