First electric trams (feb 1, 1875 – feb 1, 1881)

Description:

The world's first experimental electric tramway was built by Fyodor Pirotsky near St Petersburg, Russian Empire, in 1875. In germany the first commercially operational was near berlin in 1881 by Werner von Siemens. Before they had started to use electricity they powered to the tram with the rails (Ref. 4) This had a social impact as it allowed easy travel in the city and was the beginning to public transport.
