Operation: Menu (mar 18, 1969 – mar 28, 1970)
Description:
The US organizes a secretive bombing campaign of Cambodia, without the knowledge of the American public or even Congress. It is exposed a year later resulting in the campaign being terminated.
Cambodia was considered a neutral country during the war and not an authorized target of the United States military. This begins furthering the divide of trust between the US government and the general public.
