Berlin Blockade (jun 24, 1948 – may 12, 1949)
Description:
The Soviets' response to the merger between the French, USA and UK partitions of Berlin was to cut all road and rail links to that sector. This resulted in those living in Western Berlin to have no access to food and as a result, faced starvation. This caused the Berlin airlift to carry the supplies to the citizens of West Berlin.
