Description:
Founded by clan of Rurik. Would unite Russian lands. Heirship passed "horizontal", from brother to brother, before moving to sons. Princes would typically be named Prince of smaller cities or Principalities before advancing to larger ones.The Grand Prince title would shift from Kiev in 1186, under Vsevolod III, to Grand Prince of Vladimir (NE of Moscow).
