Yaroslav the Wise (feb 20, 978 – jan 1, 1054)

Son of Vladimir the Great. Brother of: Vysheslav, Sviatopolk I, & (Boris&Gleb)Father of:
1) Iziaslav I,
2) Sviatoslav II,
3) Vsevolod I,
4 other sons & 3 daughters
Was at civil war with his older brother Sviatapolk 1016-1019, completing victory in 1019.
He was a faithful prince, known for developing Russia's first code of law "Russkaya Pravda". He built many churches and schools, and established friendly relations with Sweden, Byzantium, the Holy Roman Empire, and many others. Also recaptured land/cities taken by Poland.
