Assyria Defeats Northern Kingdom (jan 1, 734 BC – jan 1, 722 BC)
Description:
in 734, Tiglath-Pileser III invaded Northern Kingdom, winning some cities. in 732, he returned and captured Damascus. He put up Hoshea as his puppet king. Hoshea revolted then was sieged for 3 years by Shalmaneser V (725-722). Later, Sargon II kindly deported some Israelites, rather than torturing or executing them (721-705).
