Description:
The Great Leap Forward was a campaign created by Mao Zedong in China to change the country from an agrarian society into an industrialized one through collectivization and industrialization.
1. A whopping 15-55 million people died of starvation because all their grain and grown food was sent off to the cities, hurting and ending many families.
2. Economic and environmental damage ensued this campaign, creating horrible living conditions for the Chinese people.
3. After the campaign utterly failed, people were once again allowed to privately farm and work for their needs to survive.
