Laws of Draco (jan 1, 621 BC – jan 1, 594 BC)
Description:
The first set of Athenian laws, created by aristocrat Draco. These laws were "famously harsh", as the death penalty was the consequence for most criminal offenses, regardless of severity, and tended to favour rich landowners. The laws were eventually repealed by the archon Solon in 594 BCE.
