The Dead Sea Scrolls (jan 1, 25 BC – jan 1, 68)
Description:
The Dead Sea Scrolls were found by a shepherd exploring caves close to the shore of the Dead Sea in 1947. Among the hundreds of manuscripts was a complete scroll of the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. Up to that time, skeptics had said that we could not have an accurate translation of the Bible due to the thousands of years of copying by hand. They believed that changes from the originals must have occurred over thousands of years of copying. The scroll of Isaiah was dated at around 125 years before Christ, but amazingly, apart from some spelling variations, matched with the Bible that we have today.
