Third Punic War (jan 1, 149 BC – jan 1, 146 BC)
Description:
The final conflict between Rome and Carthage, resulting in the complete destruction of Carthage. After the second war, Carthage had been weakened but still remained a prosperous city. Rome, fearing Carthage’s resurgence, declared war again. The Romans eventually breached the city walls, and after a brutal siege, Carthage was destroyed. All of its surviving inhabitants were either killed or sold into slavery.
