Cartistas (Moderates): Advocated maintaining the Charter of 1826, which centralized power and limited suffrage, favoring the aristocracy and urban elites.
Setembristas (Radicals): Favored reinstating the Constitution of 1822, which was more democratic, decentralized, and participatory.
