Regeneration (may 1, 1851 – feb 14, 1868)
Description:
The Regeneration was a period of political stability that lasted for about 17 years. It was characterized by attempts to develop the country economically and modernize it with renewal in terms of industry, commerce and transport.
The period was led by Marechal Saldanha and Fontes Pereira de Melo and it caused the end of Costa Cabral's administration.
