War of Secession (apr 1, 1861 – oct 17, 1863)

Description:

Ultimately fought over the tensions which arose from the slave-state/free-state divide within the United States, it led to the secession of the Southern states which had dominated the country until that point. With the primary institution of economic control threatened, the South created a narrative of a Yankee-Dixon cultural divide which was a gap too far to bridge.
