Description:
Pacaya, an active volcano in Guatemala, experienced a significant eruption in 1990. Located near Guatemala City, the eruption involved violent explosions and the release of lava flows, ash, and gas. The ash clouds caused disruptions in air traffic, while lava flows damaged nearby villages and farmland. Pacaya is part of the Central American Volcanic Arc and has been active for much of its recent history, with eruptions continuing to occur.
