Description:
Galileo was tried before the Inquisition because of his controversy over theology, astronomy, and philosophy. When he first was tried his initially denied that he advocated heliocentrism although later on he said that he only did so unintentionally. He was convicted of vehement suspicion of heresy. His findings through his research helped future scientists lay the basis of space exploration and telescopes.
