Unlike my mother’s stories about my grandmother, I was not told many stories focusing on my grandfather. When his name is mentioned, it is usually when my mother is speaking about her university days, her parents bringing her food. My grandfather seems so close to me, yet so far at the same time. He was a provider for his large, yet adequate family.
