The Great Depression (oct 24, 1929 – jan 1, 1939)
Description:
The Great Depression was a world-wide economic crash that had occurred due to the stock market crash of 1929. This sent people into a spiral, with many people losing their jobs, homes, land, and families. People could no longer afford food or any basic necessities, so they had turned to the government to provide programs for those who had nothing. Franklin D. Roosevelt, the president as of 1933, had many attempts to fix this disaster and bring the nation back to its original state. This had continued until the rise of World War 2, when men were being drafted into military serivice and had finally aquired jobs.
