Description:
A Persian polymath, historian, and scholar. He wrote Kitab fi Tahqiq ma li'l-Hind ("Researches on India"), which provides a detailed account of Indian culture, religion, and science. His other work, Al-Athar al-Baqiya 'an al-Qurun al-Khaliya ("The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries"), is an important historical and astronomical text. Al-Biruni was one of the greatest scholars of the Islamic Golden Age.Added to timeline:
