Description:
During the 1930s musicians incorporated African rhythms, blues, and gospel to create Jazz. Jazz and Blues were extremely popular in New Orleans. Louis Armstrong was among the most famous artists of this time and paved the way for many artists after him. During this time as well was the Prohibition Era. Many saw jazz as a threat to the country's morals.
Blues music also created a turning point in popular music. Muddy Waters and B.B King are some of the most famous names of this Era. Blues music transformed popular music and paved the way for Rock and Roll.
