Dalton Atomic Model [1803 is when it first appears, and 1808 is the year it was properly published]. (jan 1, 1803 – jan 1, 1808)

Description:

Full Name: John Dalton
Description of atomic model: All matter is comprised of tiny, definite particles called atoms. atoms are indivisible and indestructible. All atoms of a particular element share identical properties, including weight. Atoms of different elements contain different mass. and atoms of different elements combine in fixed whole-number ratios when forming compounds.
Evidence that supports his model: All matter is made of atoms. atoms are indivisible and indestructible. compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms.
Evidence against his model: The first part of the second postulate was not accepted. Bohr's model proposed that the atoms could be further divided into protons, neutrons, and electrons. The third postulate was also proven to be wrong because of the existence of isotopes, which are atoms of the same element but of different masses. The fourth postulate was also proven to be wrong because of the existence of isobars, which are atoms of different elements but of the same mass.
