Description:
This event marked the revival of the western Roman Empire and establshed Charlemagne as a central figure in European history. It took place on Cristmas day and it was in St.Perter´s Basilica in Rome. By crowning Charlemagne, Pope Leo lll aimed to revive the Roman Empire in the west, making a powerful alliance between the Frankish kingdom and the Roman Church.
