Description:

On the 28th of June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferninand was assassinated by a Bosnian national during a motorcade. The Bosnian gang, The Black Hand, very carefully planned his death, however, the attempt failed. While the car was driving to the hospital to visit the men injured in the assassination attempt, another member of The Black Hand saw him by chance, and shot him.

Its significance to the war is huge as it started the entire war. It made Austria-Hungary declare war on Bosnia, which stared the war throughout Europe.
