Degenerate Art, at MoMA [Digital exhibition] (jul 19, 2017 – feb 29, 2020)
Description:
This digital exhibition highlights a selection of works in MoMA's collection that were deemed Entartete Kunst (“degenerate art”) and ultimately removed from German state-owned museums by the Nazi government.
Visitors look at works in the Degenerate Art exhibition in Munich, which opened on July 19,
1937. Pictured are Lovis Corinth's Ecce homo (second from left) and Franz Marc's Tower of
the Blue Horses (wall at right), next to Wilhelm Lehmbruck's sculpture Kneeling Woman.
