Description:

Reign of Terror is a label given by some historians to a period during the French Revolution after the First French Republic was established. This period was the most radical and violent part of the French Revolution.

During this time, the Committee of Public Safety practically reigned as France's dictatorial government and thousands of people were executed on political grounds.
