Adopting the scret ballot was part of the expression of sentiments in the Omaha Platform. The idea was adopted by individual states, starting with Massachusetts in 1888 ending along with South Carolina in 1950. There is not an exact date in 1950 when he secret ballot was officially adopted in South Carolina.
