Glenn T. Seaborg (jan 1, 1944 – jan 1, 1944)
Description:
Glenn. T Seaborg was an American chemist who made significant contributions to the periodic table, particularly through his work on adding actinides and lanthanides to the table.
Seaborg's most notable contributions came during World War II, when he and his colleagues produced and identified the second known transuranium element, plutonium (atomic number 94). Next, they discovered americium (element 95), and curium (element 96). This earned them the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1951 which he shared with Edwin McMillan. Additionally, element 106 was named seaborium in his honor, making him the first person for whom a chemical element was named during his lifetime.
