Johann Döbereiner (Triads) (jan 1, 1829 – jan 1, 1829)

Description:

Döbereiner discovered that certain groups of three elements (triads) had similar chemical properties and that the atomic weight of the middle element was approximately the average of the other two.

Example: The elements calcium (Ca), strontium (Sr), and barium (Ba) form a triad. In this triad, strontium's atomic weight is approximately the average of calcium and barium's atomic weights.
