Reign of Duke
Vïknëpa the Great (jul 13, 171 – jun 27, 221)
Description:
He only had daughters and so after his death, his grandsons, who were all of different dynasties, fought for control of the duchy. Eventually one of his grandchildren won, Rëpiosa Kïlkïthara.
Under his reign, the Duchy of Iopenta was at its peak and there was no potential for revolt from its people. Life was very good under him and during his time, historians call it the Iopentan Golden Period. Once he died, the duchy began to fall into chaos and eventually collapse.
Future King Vïknëpa Karïmëna always remembered the days of his life under the Duke and believed that was the last time that Iopenta was good. Those memories and his major respect for the Duke led to him want an independent Iopenta. He blamed the King of Iopo for allowing Iopenta to become a backwater part of its land and forgetting its people their after it fell into chaos after the death of the great duke.
