James 1 (lived 1566-1626) (jun 19, 1566 – mar 27, 1625)
Description:
James 1 was the king of Scotland, England, and Ireland. During his reign, he was, unsurprisingly, faced with various religious challenges. He attempted to establish a reformed, fully presbyterian church system in Scotland, The Kirk. In doing so he attempted to get rid of bishops, dioceses, and parishes, and establish a system run by ministers and elders.
