Description:
The Delhi Sultanate was a late medieval empire based in Delhi, lasting from 1206 to 1526. Following the Ghurid dynasty's invasion of South Asia, it was ruled by five successive dynasties: the Mamluk (1206–1290), Khalji (1290–1320), Tughlaq (1320–1414), Sayyid (1414–1451), and Lodi (1451–1526). The Sultanate covered large areas of present-day India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, as well as parts of southern Nepal.
