Description:

Siddhartha Guatama was once a Prince in northern India, which is now modern day Nepal. He once went to go see how the common people lived and was appalled. He saw an old man begging and was astonished that life can be so terrible. He then left his family because he realized that life is suffering, and wanted to become enlightened. His journey to enlightenment led him to learn many things. He then became enlightened by sitting under a tree and not eating for 49 days. Once enlightened, he became known as "Buddha". He taught the lessons he learned on the path to enlightenment. Siddhartha Guatama met the period 2 key concept of the Development and Codification of Religious and Cultural Traditions.
