Administration of Edgar Lascombe (R) (jan 20, 2009 – jan 19, 2013)

Description:

A surprising alt-right fringe candidate, supported by Hydra and heightening measures from the Kelly administration while accusing mainstream politicians of not going far enough. Lascombe comes to office on a wave of American nationalism, white supremacy, and anti-alien sentiment. He also promises to pass the Superhuman Registration Act, in order to better police mutant abilities and superpowers.

While he himself was initially oblivious, his administration was ruled by the Inner Circle of Hydra, developing fascist agendas intended to strip and restrict rights and undue a half century of social progress. Lascombe himself was an egomaniac, and thrived for attention, and was willing to do whatever the Inner Circle asked of him if it meant attention.

The entrance of Steve Rogers as a candidate against them, and his subsequent assassination, caused a significant loss at the election.
