Trials:
intensity of punishment? -> didn't know the reality (was shown on screen during the trials) + don't feel responsible (so many shared power)

Denazification:
education (change old material = mold new generation) // can't replace old generation -> build around them (ex: unis/media)
BUT denazification stops bc lack man power for economy (too many in jail)

Soviet zone:
"individuals aren't responsible" + "fascisme + result of capitalisme" -> Nazis authorised to join communist party
