The Heliocentric Model (jan 1, 1543 – jan 1, 1543)
Description:
It was once common belief that the Earth was the center of the universe, and everything revolved around it. This is the year that Nicolaus Copernicus noticed evidence to the contrary and developed his heliocentric model to suggest that the sun was the center of the universe, and that everything, including Earth, revolved around it. This led to even more research being done by other scientists and, ultimately, a study being published by Isaac Newton that laid the foundations of the laws of motion as they are known today. Overall, it contributed to a significant change in mankind's understanding of how the universe works, and marked the beginning of the scientific revolution.
