Maos’s Great Leap Forward was a campaign headed by the Chinese Communist Party to bring the industrial era to the Chinese. It was created in order to organize its population, especially in rural areas. However, it disrupted an already fragile economic and agriculture system, and caused over 20 million people to starve.
