Korean War (jun 29, 1950 – jul 1, 1953)
Description:
WWII ended and both the soviet union and the US wanted to help Korea grow into a strong nation, so they split it in half. Both superpowers raised their ideals like communism, capitalism, democracy, and militarism. North Korea wanted to unite under a communist regime, so they invaded. The US came and tried to defend South Korea, but this strategy didn't work well. The US adopted a new strategy: invade back. They were so successful that they drew close to the Chinese border. China was threatened with war. Two years of peace attempts amid war resulted in the border slightly changing from pre-war time.
