The Continental Depression (aug 24, 1831 – may 29, 1833)
Description:
The Yuerokan Depression was an continent-wide economic crash that originated in Oipienta due to Tiglan Fesbotinee who had secretly taken around 400,000 Inyiders from various government programs and put it into his own personal bank account. About 3 months later, an investigation began about the absurdly large and suspicious amount of money Tiglan had just come into possession of. When asked how he obtained it, he said that his father, who was Ravosii and was living in Duyavarm, had passed and that he inherited the money (which, of course, in entirely untrue). However, most people did not believe him and the investigation went further until it eventually discovered the missing funds that were supposed to be going into federal programs. Once discovered, his bank was forced to shut down which led to the spiral of the closure of a few other major banks. His bank was the largest and most used in Oipienta. The depression affected all of Yueroki, especially those who frequently traded with Oipienta.
