- The Famine Commission was constituted (1867) under Henry Campbell due to the Orissa famine of 1866
- The Tenancy Act was passed in Punjab and Oudh (1868)
Policy of Masterly Inactivity on Afghan:
- No interference in internal policy even after death of Dost Mohammed
- Peace at frontier is not disturbed
- No civil war candidate seek any foreign state's help
- Sher Ali succeeded Dost Mohammed
