Hartford Convention (jan 1, 1814 – jan 1, 1814)
Description:
In 1814, the Federalists, now an earnest political party met in Hartford, Connecticut to discuss their opposition to the War of 1812. However, the war would soon end with news of the war's end conveniently arriving after a major US victory. Their seemingly treasonous views combined with their advocacy for the US's elite led the Federalists to fizzle out over the coming years.
