Description:
The Overland Campaign is the route that U. S. Grant took to Richmond, the capital of the Confederacy. In this campaign, Grant eventually won Richmond for the Union. The Overland Campaign included battles like The Battle of the Wilderness, The Battle of Spotsylvania, The Battle of Cold Harbor, and The Battle of the Crater. At this point, Grant was the commander of the whole army and he wasn’t stopping or retreating until he got Richmond or died trying.
